THE TEAM AT THE WINERY AUGUST KESSELER
When August Kesseler took over the company, founded in 1924, from his parents, he was just 19 years old. He led the at that time 2.5 hectare large barrel wine business to one of the exemplary businesses in the Rheingau and achieved a high international reputation, which has continued until today.
The winery owns a total of 32.5 hectares in the best locations of the Rheingau, is a member of the VDP and the German Barrique Forum, and with Max Himstedt has a winemaker who is as experienced as he is ambitious and who is always pushing forward into the world class. For some years August Kesseler and in particular Max Himstedt in the cellar the just as successful and ambitious oenologist Simon Batarseh stands to the side.
Endre Kasa, a career changer in viticulture, lovingly takes care of the vineyards and makes sure that the business is running smoothly and that nothing is missing! Meike
Wehmeyer and Manuela Janz are in charge of the
office work and Klaudia Kirdorf makes sure that the figures are right. Beate Kesseler, the wife and right hand of August Kesseler, takes care of the estate and looks after the well-being of our customers.
